The Market People Awards are all about recognising those who are shining in their careers or making an outstanding or special contribution to their team, firm or the wider Market. The purpose of the Awards is to identify the Market’s real stars and those who go out of their way to make EC3 a special place to work. The London Market is full of amazing talent and the Market People Awards gives everyone the opportunity to recognise those incredible professionals.

  • The London Insurance Market Claims Professional/Team of the Year award recognises exceptional individuals or teams within the London insurance market, from either a carrier or broker who have demonstrated outstanding expertise, dedication, and innovation in managing and resolving insurance claims. Nominees will typically exhibit comprehensive skills in navigating complex claim scenarios, understanding insurance policies and regulations, and prioritising client satisfaction. The winner is likely to be an individual or team who the judges feel sets the benchmark for claims professionalism in the London Insurance Market. 

  • The London Insurance Market Broking Professional/Team of the Year award celebrates exceptional individuals or teams in the London insurance market who have demonstrated outstanding expertise, dedication, and innovation in insurance broking. Nominees need to “shine” in their firms and/or in the Market generally and be an example of emerging talent in underwriting, embodying a combination of expertise, passion, and ambition that sets a high standard for excellence within the London insurance market. 

  • The Young Claims Professional of the Year award is a new category for 2024 and celebrates an exceptional emerging talent in the London insurance market who has demonstrated outstanding proficiency, dedication, and innovation in claims management early in their career – ideally the nominee will be in their first 10 years in the industry. Nominees need to “shine” in their firms and/or in the Market and demonstrate a commitment to excellence that inspires peers and contributes to the ongoing success of the London insurance market as a centre of claims expertise. 

  • The Outstanding Contribution to Technology & Innovation award recognises a visionary individual or broking/underwriting firm or someone at Lloyd’s/or Market Trade Association, within the London insurance market, that has made significant strides in advancing technological solutions and fostering innovation.   • The Outstanding Contribution to Change, Operations and Industry Transformation award recognises an individual, team or organisation within a broker, underwriter, Lloyd’s, Market Trade Association or Market firm formed to drive change and transformation. The individual or team will have made real strides in driving operational excellence and fostering transformative change, in their firms or at Market level, through initiatives, such as Blueprint Two. The winner will be someone who is passionate about driving initiatives that streamline processes, enhance productivity, and position their firm/the London insurance market for continued success in a rapidly changing landscape.

This person will be from an insurance underwriter, broker, Lloyd’s or Market Trade Association. FAQ's

Who can be nominated?

An individual, team or company in the insurance market, including an underwriter, broker, Lloyd’s, a Market trade association OR a company (not an individual) supplying goods, services or advice to the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market. Nominations not meeting this criteria will be excluded from the judging.

Who cannot be nominated?

If you are an insurance professional, you cannot nominate yourself, but you can nominate a colleague, your team or your company, or indeed any Market friend or another firm. If you are a supplier, you cannot nominate your own firm, but your clients or another firm are welcome to nominate you.

Can you nominate multiple people, teams or firms?

Yes, you can nominate as many people, teams or firms as you like, but remember to give plenty of information or justification around your nomination. The more information you give, the easier it is for the judges to make an informed decision. It’s a fact that those nominations with minimal supporting information can often prove problematic for the judges. You can also nominate a person, team or firm in more than one category.

Are nominations confidential?

Yes, nominations are made in the strictest of confidence. Only LMF will see the name of the person making the nomination. Not even the judges will see the name of the person who made the nomination, in order to ensure that everyone is free to make the a fair nomination, without judgement.

Will all eligible nominations be included in the judging?

Yes, all eligible nominations will be included.

Is there any charge to make a nomination?

No, all nominations are completely free.

The nomination portal is open now and will remain open until Friday 3rd May at 5pm.
